AHV/AVS — Old-age pension application (318.370)

The federal form to claim your AHV/AVS old-age pension as you approach the reference age.

The form is downloaded and submitted on the authority's website.

What this form is for

  • Claim your AHV/AVS (first pillar) old-age pension: it is not paid automatically, you have to apply for it.
  • The same form is used to request early payment; people living outside Switzerland use a separate form (318.000.1).

Documents to have ready

  • Your AHV/AVS number (756.xxxx.xxxx.xx) and an ID document
  • Details of your civil status (and your spouse's, if applicable)
  • Your bank details (IBAN) for payment

Where to send it

Send the application, a few months before the date you want, to the AHV/AVS compensation office you last paid contributions to.

Our tips

  • Always download the latest version from the official site.
  • Keep a copy of what you send, with the date you sent it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I draw my pension earlier or later?
Yes: AHV/AVS lets you bring the pension forward or defer it, with a reduction or a supplement. The rules are in the AHV/IV information centre's leaflets; your compensation office can advise you.
