Some documents should only be opened by the right person: pay slips, medical reports, contracts, tax returns. This tool encrypts your PDF with a password using AES-256, a strong, widely trusted standard. You can also set permissions to allow or block printing, copying text and making changes, which is useful when you share a file you don't want altered.
Password protection is reserved for the AI and Pro plans, and no AI is involved in the process. The file is encrypted on our servers, then deleted automatically, and you download the protected PDF from a temporary link. Choose a strong password and share it through a different channel than the document itself, for example by phone or text message.
