Registering a local company (ACRA, Bizfile)
The online procedure with ACRA to reserve a name and register a company in Singapore.
The form is downloaded and submitted on the authority's website.
What this form is for
- Set up a Singapore company with the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA). You first reserve the name, then file the registration; the company then receives its Unique Entity Number (UEN).
- At least one director must meet local residency rules, and the registered office must be a Singapore address open to the public during business hours.
Documents to have ready
- The reserved name and company details (registered office, financial year end)
- Identity, residential address and contact address of each director and shareholder
- The constitution (model or customised) and the allotment of shares to shareholders
Where to send it
Online on Bizfile, logging in with Singpass. Only the person who reserved the name can file; otherwise a corporate service provider can file for you.
Our tips
- Always download the latest version from the official site.
- Keep a copy of what you send, with the date you sent it.
Frequently asked questions
- Do the other officers need to do anything?
- Yes, if you file yourself: the other position holders must endorse the registration within 60 days. This is not needed if a corporate service provider filed for you.
